Meet Emily Strang Tarbert

Emily Strang Tarbert is a Zanesville native and a graduate of Ohio University and Capital University Law School. After several years serving as a child advocate in Columbus, she returned to Zanesville to serve her community and build a litigation-focused legal practice.

Emily has experience across a range of civil and criminal matters, with a primary focus on family law. Her background includes complex litigation, real estate, estate planning, probate, and mediation—experience that informs her strategic approach to divorce, custody, and other high-stakes family law cases. She currently serves as an Assistant Law Director and Municipal Prosecutor for the City of Zanesville, a role that further strengthens her courtroom skills and command of Ohio law.

In addition, Emily has served as a consultant to the Supreme Court of Ohio, where she developed a training curriculum for attorneys seeking to represent children in juvenile and domestic relations court. Her practice is grounded in careful preparation, clear strategy, and determined advocacy for her clients.
